Touch n Go card has a lifespan of 10 years?

Received a forwarded email from my friend about this and I call Touch n Go careline 03-7628 5115 to verify. Yes, all Touch n Go card has a lifespan of 10 years from date issued.

You can call the careline and check the expiry date using the serial number printed on the card. If yours is near to expiry date, just replace the card at any of the Sales & Reload counters.

Hi, I'm ex-colleague of Lee & Yuen. You are having quite an interesting blog here.

About the expiration Touch n GO card, I had experienced personally just last year. I had not used my card for few years, and the card was over 10 years, which I didn't notice, until failed to top up the card, and went to visit Touch n Go office in Central. I have to pay an re-activation fee (RM10 if I remember correctly) if I want to keep the old card.

So better check and renew your card's expiration rather than paying additional RM10 just for re-activation process, which only cost them touching the card and hit some buttons.
